Ayurvedic remedies: - A sesame oil massage is an excellent idea to control dandruff. Sesame oil can be massaged on the scalp for 10 minutes (once a week) and washed out by a fresh shower bath.
- Heat 100gm neem powder in coconut oil. Allow it to cool and apply it on your scalp, once a week. This remedy is recommended mainly for oily hair.
- Mix Camphor in coconut oil. Apply this oil, once a week.
Home remedies: - Rinse your hair with lemon juice. This is an effective remedy to control dandruff.
- Aloe Vera: Massage the scalp with Aloe Vera gel. Leave it for 10 minutes and then, shampoo your hair. This is a good remedy to control dandruff.
- Apply a paste of fenugreek seeds, which has been soaked in water overnight. Leave it on scalp for ½ hour and then shampoo your hair.
- Mix almond oil and olive oil together. Leave it for few minutes after massaging on scalp and then shampoo you hair.
Homeopathic remedies: - Kali Sulphuricum: This is recommended to people with flaky dandruff. Take one tablet twice for 2 weeks.
- Oleander: This is recommended when there is a terrible itching sensation, which gets worsened by heat.
Aromatherapy: The following essential oils are recommended to control dandruff. These essential oils can be massaged after shampooing your hair, when dried. - Lemon

Diet Therapy: Changing the normal diet can control dandruff. Things, which have to be considered important re as follows: - Eliminate junk food as far as possible
