What is fever?
Fever is the rise in temperature of the body above the normal temperature. The normal temperature of the body is between 97°F and 99°F. Fever indicates a symptom of any infection or illness.

What are the symptoms of fever?
The common symptoms of fever includes chills, body pain, elevated body temperature, feeling hot or cold, weakness...etc.

What causes fever?
Basically, any viral or bacterial infection causes fever. However, there are many other reasons for the causes of fever. These may include diseases like malaria, cancer…etc.

Alternative remedies to cure fever
    Ayurvedic remedies:
  • Brahmi
  • Aamalaki
  • Triphala
  • Maha-Sudarshan churna (an ayurvedic preparation)
    Home remedies:
  • In the treatment of common fever, the leaves of holy basil play an important role. A decoction made of about twelve grams of holy basil leaves, boiled in 1/2 liter of water can be taken 2 times in a day with 1/2 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of powdered cardamom.
  • Saffron tea is an effective remedy to cure fever. It can be prepared by putting ½ teaspoon of saffron in 30ml of boiling water. One teaspoon of this can be consumed at the intervals of one hour, till the temperature becomes normal.
  • Drink plenty of water to compensate the loss of water from the body through dehydration.
    Aromatherapy:
    The following essential oils helps in bringing down the temperature to normal:
  • Basil
  • Eucalyptus
  • Fir
  • Ginger
  • Lemon
  • Peppermint
  • Rosewood
    Homeopathic remedies:
  • Aconitum napellus (Aconite): This remedy is useful for the very early stages of fever, which is accompanied by general weakness, anxiety and thrist.
  • Belladonna: This remedy is given to a person in the early stages of sudden fever.
