What are intestinal worms? Intestinal worms are those worms which infest in human beings. There are various intestinal worms. They live in the body of man as parasites. Some of them are very dangerous.

The symptoms of intestinal worms include diarrhea, foul breath, dark circles under the eyes, constant desire for food, and restlessness at night with bad dreams, anemia and headaches. A common type of intestinal worms called as round worms may give rise to inflammation of the intestine and lungs, nausea, fever, vomiting and may cause weight loss.
What causes the development of intestinal worms in the body? Eggs of these parasites get introduced into the human system through food or water. The main cause of intestinal worms is faulty living. The eggs of these worms enter into the human body through contaminated food and water and it breeds in the intestine only if it finds a suitable medium for its multiplication. Tapeworms are transmitted in the body through under cooked flesh foods. Consuming contaminated food causes round worms to grow and multiply. Hookworms enter the human body when a person walks bare foot (if the worm is present on land).

Ayurvedic remedies: Neem fruits are described as purgative and emollient and they are helpful in expelling intestinal worms. Vidanga (Embelia ribes) is an effective remedy against pinworms and roundworms. The dosage for adults and children vary. Vidanga can be safely used for a long period of time (i.e three months) to eradicate intestinal worms completely.Home remedies:
Eat one cup of grated Carrot in the morning (1 hour before breakfast) at least for 4-5 days. Raw Papaya juice (1tablespoon) can be consumed, mixing it with 1 teaspoon of honey early in the morning. This should be followed by a glassful of warm milk, to which 1 teaspoon of Castor oil should be added. This remedy should be followed for at least 2 days. Herbal remedy: The following herbs are very effective and they are used widely in the treatment to expel worms from the body: Garlic Papaya VasakaDiet therapy: Diet plays an important role in expelling intestinal worms. A fresh fruit diet is recommended for this purpose. Fatty food such as cream, butter, oil and all flesh food must be avoided.
